FAQs

How long has SuperKids been open?

SuperKids has over 15 years experience. We opened in August of 2002.

What age children attend SuperKids?

Our SuperKids range in age from 6 weeks thru Kindergarten, as well as, for our graduated elementary age children during school breaks/ holidays and in the summer for our Traveling Summer Camp.

When are you open?

SuperKids is open Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 6pm with extended care options as early as 6:30 am and as late as 7pm.

Do you accept only 5 day a week students?

SuperKids offers 2, 3, 4 and 5 day a week options

Do you have half day options?

We only have full day programs. However, pick-up and drop off times are always at parent’s discretion and convenience. We prefer that students in the PreK classes are here by 9am when we start our academic day. Kindergarten students are expected to always be here from 9am until at least 3pm every day.

Does SuperKids close in the summer or for holiday breaks?

Everyone at SuperKids recognizes how important it is to have reliable care all year round. Therefore we minimize the days we are closed. SuperKids only closes; New Years Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, the Thursday and Friday before Labor Day for staff training, Labor Day, Thanksgiving day and the day after, Christmas and the day after if the holiday falls on a Sunday. We close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Does SuperKids provide an academic curriculum?

Absolutely. The SuperKids developmentally appropriate curriculum starts even in the infant room. Our curriculum follows all the best practices in early education. However, our curriculum is much more than just traditional subjects like reading, writing, math and science. We believe in immersion learning to delve into all aspects of your child’s development; academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

What type of training does your staff have?

We strive to be the best we can for all our super kids. Therefore, continuous training and professional development is very important to us. All staff members receive a minimum of 13 hours of professional training every year, as well as, routine practical training from neonatal intensive care nurses with over 50 years of NICU nursing experience. All staff members are also CPR, First Aid and Epi-pen certified.

When can I take a tour?

To minimize disruption to the classrooms we prefer to schedule tours between the hours of 9-11am and 2:30-4:00pm. However, we understand how busy parents’ schedules are and can make accommodations if those times are not convenient.

When can I enroll?

We have rolling admission at SuperKids all year long. In addition if your child starts in the middle of the month, your first month will be prorated to reflect on the days you were here.

How do I get on the waiting list?

Siblings of current students have priority. After that, to be on our waiting list you must have toured our center and filled out the application information.

How is the waiting prioritized?

There is no special treatment for our waiting list-it is “first come-first serve”. Once a space becomes available, starting with the first family on the list, we will call the contact number provided. Parents have 24 hours to accept and bring in the deposit.

When is tuition due?

Tuition is due on the 27th of the month preceding service.

Is my deposit refundable?

With 45 days notice, deposit funds are contributed to pay for the last two weeks of service at SuperKids. Therefore, deposit funds are “usable” not refundable.

Can I take an extended leave from SuperKids without penalty?

We require 45 days notice for changes to your program. A leave of absence is acceptable and understandable however, it could come with a risk of losing your space. As long as there is not a waiting list in your child’s classroom we will hold your deposit and in turn your spot for your return. However, if there is a waiting list your deposit will be contributed to your last two weeks of service and your spot will be filled. We cannot guarantee a spot will become available by the date of your return.

How do I enroll my child?

After you have toured our facility we will give you a packet which has all the information needed for enrollment. Aside from filling out our application information forms, you will need to bring in your child’s immunization records and a half month’s deposit to secure your spot.

Can I switch programs from 2 days a week to 5 days a week or vice versa?

Absolutely. With 45 days notice, and assuming there is available space for your requested added days, you can change your schedule to suit your needs.

What supplies do I need to bring?

For infants thru potty training you would need to provide diapers, wipes and if you prefer diaper cream/ointment. These can be brought here in bulk and we will store them at SuperKids. Your teachers will notify you when you are running low on supplies. Parents should plan on bringing in all meals which can be stored in the refrigerator or cubby. A hot lunch program is available for children Waddler age and older. All age groups should always have a season appropriate change of clothing, including socks and undergarments to be stored in your cubby.

Can I visit the center and see my child whenever I want?

Absolutely. Parents, family and friends are ALWAYS welcome in the classrooms. We encourage families to visit and participate in our classes. We also have many special events throughout the year for family and friends from special grandparents days, our very popular Halloween Parade, holiday concert, recitals and of course mother’s and father’s days.
